Talking about being popular seems so high school. Why should we try to be popular? Who do you think influences people? The person with no friends, or the one who's popular with people. I'll let you answer this. If you want to influence people, maybe your social group, maybe people at work you have to be popular with them.The definition of popular by the freedicitonary.com is 'widely liked or appreciated'. If you're widely liked or appreciated you can have influence over others. What does this mean? It means that your opinions your advice are more readily accepted. It means that you can change others' lives, it means you can make a difference in the world.

To me, popularity isn't self-serving, it is about serving others. It's about giving to others, not taking.How do we become popular?1) Listen to people. People love to talk and they love to talk about their favourite topic. What is it? Whenever you get people talking about themself, you are putting them in a good state mentally; they will begin to like you. Ask questions. Linked heavily with the first point, ask people questions about themselves. It shows you are interested in someone of you ask them more about themself. They continue to share about their favourite topic

Another thing you can do is to simply go out there and socialize with people. If it's your first time talking to that person, don't make the topic something personal. Try to stick to a general topic. This helps you get to know the other person easily and connect some bridges by sharing with each other you have something in common. As you get to know the person better, they'll introduce you to their other friends and your circle of friends will increase.Another thing about popular people is that they aren't greedy. They will help people when they see someone in need. The really popular people will even sacrifice their own time to help others out. They are very selfless and do whatever they can. You can go out and start helping out in your school or community. People will start noticing you and will come up and talk to you.

BE INTELLIGENT: You probably think getting good grades makes you UNPOPULAR at college. You'd be very surprised to know that it is in fact the other way around. Firstly if you don't get good grades there's a chance that you'll drop out of college and everything goes down the drain when that happens. Secondly there are many study groups in colleges. Being intelligent helps you gain popularity since you can help many other students in or outside your study group.

Becoming a popular student is perhaps easy at school but college is a larger society and thus fulfilling your desire of becoming popular at college maybe an arduous task but I guess if you follow the tips I have mentioned above you may become an extremely popular student!
